I am the Author, Heather Runje, and I am dedicated to assist the adventure job seeker, you! I know there is another lifestyle to live that is outside the regular rat race of day to day life, I've done it. I worked on charter yachts, Latina and Maverick (sadly, no longer operable), based out of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, in 1992. It is an experience I treasure. I reminisce regularly. It was a carefree yet personally challenging lifestyle. I was a Stew/Deckhand and we chartered up to 16 guests each week, back to back, taking them to exotic locales around the Virgin Islands. Working in the sunshine everyday touched my soul and this experience continues to motivate me toward my dream of living part of the year in my favorite tropical location, the Caribbean. I encourage you to take on this advenuture, this challenge of leaving the rat race to experience an alternative work lifestyle, just do it! You are opening a door that will bring much reward whether it be a feeling of freedom, a deeper understanding of society and how it came to be or just lots of fun and developing a wonderful friendship base of international characters!
